The old house serves as a storehouse for sensations and memories that have accumulated over time. By now, the house is almost completely vacated. However, one can still find the traces of all those beings – human and animal alike – that have lived in those rooms, that have enlivened them. The old walls have seen love and passion, happiness and fury, mourning and parting. Every brick in this house reminds one of the transience of life; behind every door, there is a universe of memories. Every noise contributes to the melody of experience – all noises together combine to elegies of parting.
For audiomemories I worked with an obsolete analog toy camera from the 1980s that has a very peculiar and unique recording method. During the filming I manipulate the images with additional build-in effects in real-time.
